Rowing for Alzheimer’s Research UK

Odgers Berndtson UK rows for Alzheimer’s Research

Over the last two years, Odgers Berndtson UK has supported Alzheimer’s Research UK, a charity that funds groundbreaking research into dementia – a condition which impacts the lives of many staff, either directly or indirectly – and how it can be prevented. During that time the company has coordinated awareness and fundraising events across all of its UK offices, while also sending teams of staff to volunteer in dementia care homes.

Odgers Berndtson’s latest sponsorship drive came at the end of February, when 150 members of their staff across the UK each rowed 2km – with the London office even bringing in four rowing machines especially for the occasion. Sponsorship money is still rolling in and, in total, the event’s organisers hope to raise £16,000. Staff based in Odgers’ global offices also took part, with each country rowing to raise money for its own chosen charity and many people even choosing to row in fancy dress.

OBUK has so far raised almost £65,000 to help support crucial dementia research since May 2017 by running events like the annual rowing challenge, company-wide raffles, wine tasting events and bake sales and has, as a result, developed a strong relationship with ARUK – a relationship which has culminated in the company being given the AESC Commitment to the Community Award, which recognises an individual, office or firm combining excellence in executive search with a strong commitment to community service and volunteerism toward charitable causes.

We're delighted to have supported their amazing effort.
