Job Description

We are seeking an Executive Business Manager (EBM) to support the Executive Director of Communications within a large-scale organisation within the Public Sector.

This is a pivotal role within the organisation, providing a blend of business management, operational oversight, and executive support. You will enable the smooth running of the function, bringing structure, pace, and clarity to a busy and evolving environment.

Working closely with the Executive Director and Executive Assistant, you will act as a trusted partner—managing priorities, overseeing workflows, and ensuring effective coordination across senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing day-to-day business management including planning, performance tracking, and risk management
  • Inbox management including filtering, prioritising and response
  • Improving and implementing systems, processes, and ways of working
  • Coordinating governance and reporting
  • Overseeing financial processes, including budget monitoring and compliance
  • Supporting senior meetings and engagement, including agenda setting, papers, and action tracking
  • Building strong relationships across the organisation to ensure alignment and delivery

The successful Executive Business Manager (EBM) must have prior Business Assistant, EA or Business Management support experience within the public sector and must be proactive, discrete and solutions driven. Prior experience managing conflicting priorities, stakeholder management and implementing systems will be essential to the smooth running of this role.

Our client offers strong benefits to include 30 days holiday, hybrid working and a generous pension scheme. This is an exceptional role for a candidate who thrives in a high pressured environment offering variety and scope.
