On Monday I was greeted with a warm welcome by the lovely team. I got given a delicious breakfast when I arrived, making me feel more relaxed. The team always have Monday breakfast together in the office, a great way to start the week. I was quite nervous before I started but quicky got settled in as everyone was so kind and helpful.
After meeting everyone in the office and being shown my way around, I sat down with Hetty to get an overview of what the temp desk and how it all works. My first task was a competitor analysis exercise. I found this interesting especially seeing how other agencies differentiate themselves. During my lunch break I got to explore the lovely area of soho. In the afternoon I had the chance to sit in on one of Hetty’s candidate interviews. I found this insightful and a good way to be able to understand the interview process.
On Tuesday I sat down with Jessie, she gave me an overview of the perm desk, and I shadowed candidate interviews. In the afternoon I got to meet Katie the Office Manager, she set me the task of sorting out all the candidate cards. I also helped her pick up the last bits we needed for the drinks and registration event being hosted for the 2025 Oxford Media and Business school students.
Wednesday was a quieter day in the office, and I worked on transcribing the Bain and Gray podcasts.
Thursday was the last day in the office; I cannot believe how fast the time went. In the morning, I sat down with Claire to go over my CV and talk about my next steps after OMBS. Katie kindly took me out for lunch, such a lovely way to end my work experience.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the team at Bain and Gray for inviting me for work experience this week and for everyone making me feel so welcome, especially Hetty who planned it all out. I have enjoyed every moment of it, and it has really made me understand the hard work and commitment that goes into recruitment. Although I don’t think recruitment is something I want to go into is has still been eye-opening and great chance to get to know the Consultants as they help me secure an Admin/PA role.
